Could seem trivial, like what difference is that gonna make on the planet... fashion, it's just a superficial, commercial waste of time... blah blah....  Stop for a moment... what if it really all depends on the context. I mean when fashion is related to as a self expression, as a means for people to express thoughts, feelings, moods, emotions..... OR....  when it's related to as a potential disaster for the planet, then there's a different way of relating to the clothes we wear. Think about the amount of synthetic fabrics that are completely unrecyclable, or the amount of people who struggle to clothe themselves warmly during winter..... then maybes fashion is something that's could potentially make a huge difference on the planet.

Especially in the realm of dressing in somebody else's clothes, I mean isn't that what's happening when  a 'label' is worn?  Think about voting... is wearing somebody else's design a political statement?  A measure for keeping a brand sustainable... dare I say a corporation in existence?

Consider fashion as a measure of awareness and look around at what people are ware-ing, are we a conscious race or are we asleep to BEing clones??

It's all a matter of perspective... one perspective is to wear a brand thinking one is cool, the other is to creative your own.  And guess what?  It IS possible... in Melbourne there's a space for people to paint their own designs onto T-shirts, for outta Melbourne there are T-shirt painting kits.
