The Communication Curriculum
The communication curriculum has altered a little since 2002... it then consisted of the CAP, CPP, TMLP 1 and TMLP 2.
CAP: Communication Access to Power
A weekend course designed to get to the source of a 'sentence'. Think of it like a life sentence, something that has been decided about ones' self... a conversation that crops up once confronted with a 'new' opportunity. Something along the lines of "I'm bad, I'm evil, I'm unlovable, I'm hopeless, I'm useless, I'm wrong".
The course proposes that people actually set up a 'world' to continually re-inforce whatever one has sentenced oneself to. For example "I'm hopeless would more than likely surround themselves with self-help books, have a wardrobe full of clothes with something 'off'... missing a button, ripped hems, half a shoelace in one shoe - where's the other one?
Now, if "I'm hopeless" were to travel, he/she would more than likely attract people of a similar conversation... and take the same world with him/her. So, nothing really changes until the conversation is identified.
And, the communication curriculum is designed to do exactly that. Communication Performance and Power was a weekend of setting up structures to dismantle disempowering conversations. The movie "The Secret' says more about that with display boards.... putting up pictures of the desired result of one's dreams... the new house, perfect body, ideal job, $$$ an issue???... sign yourself a cheque, whatever the dream is, give substance to the end result and live the plan to get it.
Team Management and Leadership Program is a one year program structured with a coach, a once a quarter classroom, weekly meetings, calls, emails, assisting agreements to further and develop the communication programs' content, and a weekend in either Melbourne or Sydney each quarter. The 'game' is regional, including New Zealand, so participants travel to the weekend courses to deepen their experience of the communication program, meet other participants, share games, results, and set up agreements for between weekend. Completely structured to the nittiest, grittiest detail....setting up meeting times, exchanging contact information, creating games, scheduling agreements around the courses, and getting groups clear for coaches/coachees.
TMLP2 coaches TMLP 1, setting up their own meetings with scheduled regional calls to share about coaching, communication, personal experiences etc.
