The Landmark Forum 3 days, one evening.. the beginning of the curriculum for living.
This Landmark Forum is the entry point into a global business that has enough courses/programs/structure to keep people participating for life. The Landmark Forum Leader agreement actually IS for life. People who graduate from the required Landmark Forum Leader training agree to lead courses for the rest of their lives. Unless of course major shake-ups within the company happen in between the moment they agree and the rest of their life. As is what happened in 1997.
What is The Landmark Forum anyway? It's an enquiry facilitated by a Landmark Forum Leader based on the 'technology' of the company. The course runs for 3 days, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and one evening (that being Tuesday) between 7-10pm. Usually held at the 'centre' (office) in a room set up like a lecture hall with two big blackboards at the front, tables for the production team at the back, and rows of perfectly organised chairs with an aisle down the centre. There could also be aisles down the sides depending on the number of participants.
When people register to participate a form is filled out with questions to determine that the person who wishes to be in the course is mentally sound, and has a willingness to uncover important issues during the three day enquiry.
On the first morning of the course agreements are set up to ensure that the course flows smoothly, as far as ways to participate are concerned. For example, when people are invited to share or ask questions, it's preferred to speak at the microphone. It's strongly recommended that people abstain from drugs and alcohol whilst participating in the event until completion of the course on Tuesday night 10pm. Agreements to be on time when returning fromthe breaks, to switch off mobile phones, and listen when somebody else is talking are set up as foundations for a successful course where every participant experiences value. Taking notes is forbidden, as is videoing any part of the course... people are required to be awake and alert, taking notes can be seen as a way of distancing or separating ones' self from the enquiry.
Anyone who is unwilling to agree to, or has a point of view about, any agreements is welcome to air their questions/concerns, and in some cases if an agreement can not be met, the participant is given a refund before the technology is introduced.
During the Landmark Forum participants learn and experience the basic foundation of the company, and it's copyrighted terminology. 'Rackets', 'strong suits' and fixed ways of being that cause upsets in life are distinguished, giving the participant a choice in 'BE.ing', thus an opportunity to transform any circumstance. Considering the person with the upset is there during the upset, this then gives the person power to choose a created way of being, vs a fixed, automatic way of BEing.
It's done by the leader proposing that up until a certain moment in time life is going along smoothly without any experience of being separate to the world. Then something happens, something that has us decide to BE a different way. Led as an enquiry, participants begin to look into their own lives to consider if what's being proposed has any merit. Examples are given by the leader and then whoever identifies a similar experience is invited to 'share' and investigate the incident thru conversation with the leader whilst the participants listen in.
That enquiry prompts other people to identify their breaks in belonging and see (sometimes for the first time) a new perspective on why people become a certain way.
And so the course continues as pieces of Landmarks technology unfold and participants start to map out their history with blueprints of information to 'try on'.
Three days after being in the enquiry usually bonds the partipants whom by the end have shared personal information. Usually private and a lot of times very intimate issues are discussed for participants to relate to the ah-ha moments uncovered during the course.
Tuesday night is graduation night usually held at a hotel that can seat up to 600 people, for the participants to return with guests who will be introduced to landmark's education too. Graduates are also given the final part of the course so that they're ready to deal with life armed with an access to BE.ing transformational.
It is however highly highly recommended that Forum graduates register into the Advanced Course which is wwwaaayyy more powerful. Anyone who registers at the Tuesday evening session gets a discounted price too!
People who are unsure, like what they've discovered and want to deepen their experience of the technology have a free seminar to register into... that's the Forum in Action which goes for 10 weeks. It's highly highly recommended that EVERY graduate register into it... it's included in the tuition of the Forum and disects the Forum into bite sized pieces... for anyone who thinks they didn't 'GET IT'.
